Even though the small lever is shifted to the RHS and then botton (In High) position the DIFF Lock lights up ( the one with the two axels on the dashboard). Tried to move it to the LHS and lock the diffs and then the light goes off. My mechanic just changed the diff lock switch so dont know if he goofed up on the wiring. Can some one help me on this.

Sounds as if the wrong switch has been used. It's a very simple thing to do your self. If you take the panel under the middle seat/ cubby box off you will see two switches with cables comming off them. The one directly below you comming off the back of the main box is the reversing light switch. The one on the transfer box is the diff lock one. They just screw in, and you have o adjust them so that the lights come on and off as you move the selectors. It's basicly just a push button switch, and when you move the selector it either pushes the switch in or not.

It sounds however that he may have used a reefing light switch for the diff lock, as I think one is normal open, while the other in normally closed(but I may be wrong here)

Wittier take it back to him and get him to do the job properly or just get the correct bit from eBay Nd fit it your self it's a ten min job.

Just to clarify however that the light should not change between L/H only between lock and unlock.

You may have to drive a bit to make it come on as it needs a bit if movement to make it lock.

The other option would be to fit some electonics into the circuit ( either a transistor circuit or a relay which will act as a Not gate and basily switch around the logic of the circuit I.e make on become of and off become on)

Mine was doing this all though the shift lever was far right and it turned out that the diff-lock was still engaged, (lifted front end and rear wheels were wanting to push!) Adjusted lingages, light went out, checked again lifting front end up-sorted :)

Thanks will sort this out. How does one check if the wheels are diff locked. Don't know the procedure to check the same. Would someone kindly help me on this. Don't want to buger the Landy./

I hold NO responsibility for this is you go through the back of your garage :D

When you lift both front wheels off the ground with a trolley under front axle with the diff-lock engaged and slowly lift the clutch the rear wheels should push you-Non diff-lock your front wheels will just spin!

Here's a couple o' photies where the diff lock switch is ...

It's a bit o' a fiddly job to get at it but might be easier if ye take the tunnel off (as well as the centre seat box cover);)

As usual Buster you are a great help. Thanks for the picture. Please do more posts. Your posts have helped so many of us. God Bless you Sir.
