I couldn't find anything in RAVE regarding this so I put it out there, I have an oil leak from the vacuum pump, I've checked and its not the cam cover so does anyone know how you go about removing it and changing any seal within? Cheers!

They dont have a vacuum pump, pas pump yes
unless some one has fitted an engine out off a bemmer they have on end of cam.

Oh right, yes it's on the end of the cam and has a pipe coming out of it, so i take it range rover just has a blank of some sort?

There were P38 diesels with vacumm pumps - the ones fitted with EGR system(MY99 and onwards).

MY 1998 and onwards. Vac pump is sealed by an O'ring. Remove clean vac pump and seating in head fit new O'ring and coat seating and O'ring with Hylomar refit.

Remove pump bin it and fit the cover plate from the earlier version.

And the earlier cam shaft sprocket bolt. Would be interesting trying to fit the early cover with the vac pump oil feed sticking through it. :D:D

Standard mod over here. Not bothered to try it myself.

Thought the frogs were pretty keen on EGR and the like. The EGR camshaft sprocket bolt has an hole through it and is extended to feed the vac pump. The none EGR bolt is solid. Pretty sure the none EGR blanking plate would foul the extended nose. And you wouldn't want free flowing oil out of the end of the camshaft either. So you would have to fit the early bolt to remove the foul and blank the oil flow. :);)
