Hi I have a 1999 2.5 dse and it starts and runs beautifully, but it normally starts on the button when cold.in the last couple of days it seems to turn over a couple of times before firing. Once started it runs perfectly.Would this be a sign of a problem developing, does anyone think or am I just paranoid. anyones help would be appreciated .Thanks Mick:D

Let the glow light cycle twice before cranking. Switch on wait till it goes out then switch off and back on only crank when it goes out second time. If it improves look at glow plugs. Watch how long the lamp stays on, should be 8 or 9 seconds on a really cold morning. If it's less than that and plugs check out ok maybe ECU temp sensor is going down.

Or could just be the battery starting to show its age on cold mornings.

And if you change the glow plugs, which is quite easy, dont trap the wire of the 4th injector in the manifold when reassembling, like some idiot on here did recently!!!!!

Definitely not battery, its new and cranking speed is good, also constantly on smart charger. thanks Mick
