Hi.
Could metal connector holding fuel leak off pipe be damaged? Changed leak off pipe & still leaking diesel, can see pool at base of No4 injector. Or maybe injector is fault. I have ordered silicone pipe just to see if the braided one I bought is at fault. Have bit of a lumpy start up also. Any ideas on stopping leak? Thanks.

Silicone is no good for spill pipes. Use only proper 1/8" bore spill pipe. Get good stuff from a factors not the crap off Ebay. Number four injectors often spring a leak form where plastic part joins. New one needed. Lumpy start will be a couple of duff glow plugs.

I remember someone posted a repair for No4 injector some time ago, wonder how successful it was :)

Well as you well know, if it's man made it can be man repaired. Remember a Sudanese driver being offered help with his Bedford TK in the middle of the desert, he had his injector pump off and was repairing it. He declined, stripped it down and rebuilt it, in a bucket of diesel.:)

Well i suppose it depends how long a piece of poxy plastic will hold together with Araldite. Araldite does not generally like a lot of heat.:):D

I bought original leak off pipe from eurocarparts, supposed to be for P38, though it does not state what ID it is. Will wait for silicone pipe to arrive, though not sure now, advice recommends, maybe its not up to the job. Will get some small cable ties in meantime. Hope its not injector.......

Silicone pipe is not suitable as Wammers said, it swells and you will have a constant smell of diesel under the bonnet, I know from experience.

Silicone is only any good if you're using 100% SVO or BIO but then if you are messing around with home brew fuels then you should get Teflon lined hose it's much ticker and very hard to fit, but won't leak and is safe with all fuel types

Can diesel leak from wire on injector no.4? stuck my head in to try and see where exactly leak is & looks like bubbling around wire is this poss, also feels bit wet around pipe union, can I slacken off and re tighten nut without causing more probs. Any tips on pin pointing leak welcomed. silicone advice taken on board, will not use.Thanks.

Yes that is were it leaks from when the plastic the wire goes into cracks. If you mean the injector pipe union. ALWAYS slacken then re nip. NEVER try to tighten without slackening first.
