What is wrong with the one you have fitted?
If security code is out of sync you will get that. You will also get that if the wrong EDC is set in BECM. You will be a bit pissed off if when you change the pump it's the same. Try syncing it first. You will need a Syncmate or Nanocom to sync it and a Nanocom to check EDC setting. If security code stored in ECM is not the same as the one written to the BECM the fuel quantity servo is not active and no fuel can get to injectors. Same thing if EDC selection (early or late) is wrong.
If you have a Nanocom and it is as you say it must have error codes logged unless the pump has failed in a mechanical way internally. Are you are sure the security code in the ECM is the same as the one written in the BECM. Have you checked this? If your EDC (Early/Late) is on the wrong setting that will also stop it from starting but you will not get an error code.
Security learn doesn't work with the diesel. Need to read from EMS then write to BECM.
This is true. You must read the EMS then read the BECM and make sure they tally. If not then delete the scrambled one from the BECM and replace it with the one from the EMS then write it to BECM. All should be well then.
He probably already knows but didn't want to assume anything.
Think he did say earlier that they tally. But having BECM set to early EDC instead of late EDC will certainly give him what he has got. There will not be any error codes it just won't start.
