Driving along the other day my trusty s3 diesel ground to a halt no fuel ,pump had it i was wrong lots of diesel on cranking and on manual pump gets to the distributor but thats it nothing to injectors and only out of one bleed vent .sourced my self a known working dizzy still no joy any ideas anyone probably something simple:) .second query tried to set the timing using the flywheel aperture but all i see is EP and what looks like TDC i can find no reference to this in the green bible only about 13 , 15 and 16 markers none of which i can find very frustrating few weeks so any ideas most welcome.
 
you could have crap in your fuel lines, take off the pipes from the pump to the injectors and blow them out with an airline ;)
 
Thanks yella disco,first thing i tried ,got a known working dizzy fitted problem i've got now is the only marks on my flywheel to use for timing are TDC and EP ,got it started this morning really rough and knocking how can i fine tune it as shown in the landrover manual without timing marks.
 
could be yer pump timing is out, or the knocking could be cos the injkectors aint injecting so to speak ;)
 
Thanks yella ,timing definitely out but only EP and TDC as timing marks on flywheel so been trying to set timing by setting TDC mark in line with the pointer then turning crank so thick spline on pump is at 20 degrees to the engine!Very stressful!
