yesWill it be ok to use push fit connectors on the fuel pipe, I used them on the air suspension and work great
Fitted new fuel pump, fuel hoses are full and no air bubbles. Wait for it, Wait for it, it will not start. It tries to start but kicks out loads of light blue smoke which smells of diesel. I was going to try and bleed the injector pipes but I read somewhere it will self bleed.
You need at least three consecutive ones working.Yes that's what I thought. I can't help but think it has got something to do with the glow plug control, ( as per diagnostics ). If I turn the ignition on until the glow plug light goes out it tries to start, if I turn it on and off a few times until the light goes off it will turn over a bit longer with no smoke. I have been told that the bmw engine does not want to start unless all glow plugs are working.
Static timing is ok.
But if cranked long enough it will start with a very good battery....Yes that's what I thought. I can't help but think it has got something to do with the glow plug control, ( as per diagnostics ). That and a wee squirt of brake cleaner in the air intake ...But if cranked long enough it will start with a very good battery....

Hi All, you will not believe this but the symptoms have returned. Got in it yesterday, started first time, so I took the wife shopping around 10miles. Started first time to go home after shopping , but on the way home
it had no response on the accelerator. Managed to get it home, came out this morning and it is back to how it was before, will not start and if I keep it turning over on the starter it kicks out loads of light blue smoke and smells of diesel.
Fuel pipe is full no air bubbles, I can not believe how nice it ran first thing yesterday.
Fault codes?
If it is the glow-plug control again then something must be causing it to blow.

Did you get good quality glow plugs when you changed them?
