Hi All,
This has probably been covered before but i cant seem to find anything so here goes.

Is there any diagnostic machine out there that will fullfill the requirements of the TD5, including the extra modules to identify the cause of the 3 amigo's etc and also be suitable for other model vehicles, ie vauxhall, ford etc.

Hi Cruiser, the kiddies to have apparently is a Nanocom. Comes from Italy and covers pretty much everything on TD5 Defender and Discovery ONLY. Interestingly you can hook it up to the car and go for a drive so you get live data of loads of different elements of the engine performance.

It also covers SLABS that's the air suspension and ABS, for the 3 amigos.

In a couple of months it will also, apparently, cover the autobox ECU, which is why I'm waiting to buy one.

None in the country currently, cost £220-ish.

I have a snap-on ethos. It will do all the usual stuff (airbags, abs, engine management etc) on most models including ford, vauxhall, landrover etc but it is nowhere near as comprehensive on a landrover as the nanocom is.

are these machines easy to use?

yes. It just takes a while to get used to what all the sensors do and what the values should be. If you are thinking that a fault will magically apear then this is often not the case. Sometimes it can take a lot of testing before all becomes clear.
