Whats the fault?

I have diagnostics but you'll have to travel to Somerset

hi, many thanks for your reply's.

right the fault i have is:

drive disco with foot flat to the floor and when the revs get to about 3900-4000 it sort of hesitates before changing gear, but it will change but it dont seem to rev right round the clock soomth.

now if when rev it standing still it revs round the range like a rocket ship past 5k no problem.

i have had new air flow meter(genuine) and also i have just changed my injector loom(weekend)

any ideas

Try a new coolant temp sensor. Mine eats em. They're about £15. They don't generally show up as faulty on a diagnostic either.

hi, where abouts on the vehicle are they?

thanks

remove the plastic cover from your engine. Look at the top of the front right hand corner (where the top radiator hose attaches). You'll see a sensor with a 2 wire multi plug. The plastic head of the sensor should be blue.

hi, went out in disco last night with the air flow meter disconnected and it went like a rocket as normal so i think its me air flow meter causing the problem.

this is my second air flow meter since i have had the car its only done 50k it had done 39k when i had it, so what air flow meter would you buy and where from?

going to check to see if air flow meter is still under warranty.

thanks

Hi 4x4xfar,

i had a similar fault on my Td5. After checking injector loom and hoses, I found that the hose from intercooler to air inlet had collapsed internally. New hoses fitted both sides of intercooler and no probs since.
