Great evening guys n gals ...nice to meet Rich and Stoatie ...looking forward to getting some lanes done down west soon .

Can't possibly just drive past the Gurnards Head  Failed to factor in the Cape Cornwall lane , so just doing a re-route .:)

It was really good last time I went there, there was a folk band, beer was good, that was an evening, of course! :)

Good to take in the Cape, very tame lane, but the view over the sea makes up for it.

My truck is almost set to do some lanes. I've managed to do the worst waxoyl job ever, and I'll be getting some proper tyres over the next few weeks.

If you do some of those lanes around liskeard I'd love to come along, even if I ride shotgun with someone.

What sort of truck have yu got, Volvo, Scania, Foden, Peterbilt? ;):D

Good that you got the chassis sprayed, I hope you paid as much attention to the inside as to the outside :)

Why not pm Jess0engineering, he is pretty local to yu, and might be up for a run out ;)

I think turboman has the same idea as me when trucks are concerned...

This is the small truck where I work ;-)

Just recently got myself a defender 90 and am looking to do some greenlaning. I don't really have any offroad experience does anyone know somewhere around saltash area where it would be good to start on something basic to learn the ropes?

Thanks lewis

Evening Lewis! :)

I suggest you have a read up about green laning in the many good syickys at the top of this forum.
Green lanes come in a wide variety of difficulties, some can be easily driven by a novice, others not. But you should look into glass code of conduct and so on first.
If you have no experience at all, it might be an idea to try some off-roading first. Pay and play will let you slide around without risking the general public, and there is someone to recover you if needed.

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you know of any pay and play places around my area which you would reccomend? I've done one days offroading a few years ago, but have only just managed to afford my own truck.

I'll take a look at some of the codes of conduct now, thanks :)

I don't really do it, I am always out and about on the farm. But many on the forum do, try the off-roading section, search box at top of page, try pay and play etc. Jess0engineering is trying to organise a trip to Bush Farm, I think.

Not just codes of conduct, lots of stuff about how to find lanes and so on up there^^^^^^^ :)

If anyone local to Saltash or Liskeard wants to come out one weekend I can guide you though a few local lanes there are a fair few tame ones but still good fun. And Yes I am going to organize a day at bush farm just out side Saltash Good fun pay and play if you get stuck the farmer charges £5 to recover you. Last time we went there we pay a punch trial where you had to get your vehicle into a certain position to punch the card tied to your dash all good fun :)

Hi jess0engineering, I would love to do both of those things. However I am a complete beginner so would need some help! I guess the best thing to start with would be the pay and play day? :)

Or maybe do a few tame lanes first ...even better is to find someone to sit in with you as ballast , it's amazing how much more confident you become if you've got someone sat next to you who knows the ropes.
Oh and :welcome2: to the Devon & Cornwall laning thread ...also see green lane association for info.
Muds :)
