Good news I have done some receing there's quite a bit to be changed due to change of use , fly tipping I also managed to remove a big tree by accident and dented my roof and cracked my bonnet in the process so not a happy bunny today

Flipping Eck Martyn :(

Did you follow the route that I sent you , I take it you mean that some of the route I've plotted is no good:confused: I'll have to look at the definitive map ...how do you know it's changed use?

is this a monthly thing people? I'm in Somerset and might come tag along sometime! :) I'm a complete noob to off roading though so what are the routes like? Cheers

A byway cant have a change of use without a modification order, and I only saw one on the County Council site, I was looking at a few of those tracks just now.

What have they fly tipped that is so bad we cant drive over or round it?

Is this the landy or yer works van yu dented the roof of?

Not monthly, we just go out when we can make it. Come down for one of our pub meets if you like, next one is meant to be central or east Cornwall.:)

Afraid it is a long drive to meet a bunch of local yokels though! :D And I think there are some folk far closer to you that might take you out ;)

Well poldicr valley is signed no vehicular access ,the lane at wheel rose is only just big enough for a foot path and the fly tipping is about 3 tonnes of road chippings I tried to get over it but I feel it's been placed there to stop people using the lane. And it's my landy roof and bonnett bit gutted as the front looks a mess now I'll have to try and straighten it out

Poldice is a bit of a hotspot of friction with the locals, sign may be unofficial. Did you see any recent wheel marks? Wouldn't take long for the track to grow in, lot of growth atm with all the rain ;) You could be right about the chippings, tis ok to go round or move some if it is an illegal obstruction.

Shame about you roof, but mine has a few dents in it  And you really should walk and measure first if in doubt, especially if you are on your own.

This is the thing I did walk and the branches were very scarce but I wasn't fussed about low beaches once I drove in the branches got snagged and it turns out the tree was quite dead and it pulled a limb off not to worry its a land rover a bit of a straighten and some paint all will be well

Dead tree! Get any firewood? :D Sure it will straighten up ok, not usually too bad to tap out minor dings ;):)

I was going to but no saw I recommend before anyone drives that lane it should be de wooded as there's a few other sketchy bits hanging

Not in tatters there are a few easy solutions, it will be fine . Just need a chainsaw and a shovel to take with us and all will be well :)

Ok , we'll get together with TM and do some recces on foot and together ..I'm sure Poldice will be a contentious one , but we'll be through it and gone before anyone knows ...and there are other byways round there , think my route comes in half way down , so it could start earlier and track up and out half way through ...we'll see.

Hi guys, could you send us some coords for the Wheal Rose/Mount Hawke/Porthtowan sections...we can walk them if that would be a help? We're also over on the Roseland a fair bit so can have a look that side as well if needed?
