I had some of that mud stain plastic so bad I couldn't get rid of it unless I sanded it.. It really is nasty mud

Only thing worse than that is china clay. Bloke I used work for bought a 109 series 3 that had been used by ECC in the pits. Never seen chassis rust like it :eek:

I didn't even manage to get out of bed this morning! I went out for the first time since christmas for a full night and didn't get out of bed til 12pm! Ha ha

I got ming monged! We don't do parade in the RN dear boy, it's called "turn to"!

Either way, the landy didn't even get it's key turned! :D

RN terminology is much older than Army and RAF terminology. :)

My best mate is back from abroad so kind of welcome home.

Probably road salt! :eek::eek:

Well if you will live up in the freezing tundra! :p;)

noooo,it was from a coastal village on the west coast of scotland,probably used for boat launching i think.but mr jamesmartin is fitting a new/good chassis to it as we speak.plus doing other jobs on it as well.:D:D

Yes ,boat launching can rot the hell out of them. People don't seem to realise it aint a good idea to reverse the whole rear end into the ocean :rolleyes:

true,but if land rover would have used decent metal for the chassis and protected it,then we would not have these problems would we.:mad:

whats so funny about that????

They just didn't do that, although the steel was better on the older models imo!
Often seen genuine chassis parts with bare metal on them on arrival. I was looking at a two year old Def yesterday, and it had plenty of surface rust on rear chassis :D
By contrast, a G wagen has about 1mm thick plastic coating on the chassis, shame the bodies rust to **** :)
