Upload to photo bucket then copy the IMG link

****ting it on the rounded side of the frame usually breaks them free not on the joint itself, the metal surrounding it

In my stupidity

I presume you've tried bashing it out from below. The bit its in is cast iron, so I think you could heat it up quite hot to get it out. Other option would be remove the swivel housing and drill it out. Will take a while though

Thats what i have done :-/

I take it you need to hit it down the way? What's probably happening is it's flexing so you're not getting a dead hit. Try and get something solid under it like a trolly jack jacked up hard against it.

Try the old school method of placing a hammer on one side of the arm where the bolt goes through and then giving the other side a few sharp wacks with another hammer. The resulting shock often will pop the thing out.

Yes because this gives it a dead blow, although what you describe is a different use of the method to what I suggested :)

I don't think so. What I mean is to smack the arm itself on the sides of the arm on either side of the stuck ball joint bolt, not the top or bottom of it. Nor do you whack the stuck bolt itself.
