I don't think so. What I mean is to smack the arm itself on the sides of the arm on either side of the stuck ball joint bolt, not the top or bottom of it. Nor do you whack the stuck bolt itself.

I know exactly what you meant. You need to understand why it's done that way though. You don't hit the ball joint itself under normal circumstances because it will mushroom the threads and then it won't fit through the hole. Being that this guy chopped the threaded bit off, all that's left is the tapered part, so a good smack with a parallel punch will shift it. Fact still remains, the second hammer is used to make it a dead blow, whether it's held against it or swung at it. Same song, different singer :)

Not tried yet i ended up under the car to started welding te chassis and swiftly realised i need a new chassis :-/
