what did you try and do to bleed it? did you fill the old and new filters with fuel before fitting em?

Yep filled them up with fuel the it went though it purge cycle then away it went i used it yesterday. it started 1st time today ran for a few miles then gave up

sometimes you need to do the purge cycle several times over.

It could have had one of the seals mising, it could have had a loose water drain valve, it could be a dodgy filter. It wasn't a britpart filter was it?

Can you hear the fuel pump working now it's not starting? Is it more noisey than usual? does it sound like it's gurgling?

yep pumps running and sounds normal all the seals in place and a gen filter

sounds like you might want to try running the purge process several times in a row.

I've had it need to be done 8 times on my landy before now.

As i said it has been running since the filter change for about 15 miles then gave up

it could have had a big chunk of ****e from the filter shift (especially as you removed it and then re-fitted it). It could be an air pocket that was missed while purging. Double check the fuel cut off switch while yer at it.

Well it does no (start that is)

their were quite a few things wrong with it

A small amount of oil in the ECU Plug new harness fitted

The Autologic said 4 out of the five injectors had faults and would not clear the mech had to reprogram the injector numbers in again not a clue why

It seemed the main problem to our tale of woe was a bad earth to the ECU and a few other bad earths on the truck

It also had a ceased wastegate that would explain the miss fire when giving it the big foot

and a totaly gunged up EGR valve need to get rid of that asap

Any way its a runner now

so if you are looking for a mechanic on NW Leicestershire give Will at Infield Landrover a try good lad and owns a old TD5 110
Thanks for your help guys
Cheers David
