my landy is listed on v5 as a 110 defender but the wheelbase measured from front to rear centers is 93 inches, it has uprated springs ,is highered and has a disco 3.5 v8 and lt95 box, possibly a disco 1 front axle, is this why it does not measure correctly ???

That certainly sounds a bit odd as the measurement you have quoted is correct for a 90, can you post a photo of the vehicle?
Different front axle will make no difference.

Do you know its history?

Also, have you checked the VIN against the decoder? to see what that throws up?
