NRC4171... Assuming its the same as my '85 110. I think you have to seperate body and chassis to fit it. I was replacing the rear half chassis so could get it out, otherwise it's a body off job. I've heard rumour you can cut it in half to fit then weld it up in situ but never tried it.
Thanks Neilly. I didn't notice anything resembling the part on their website however I have now emailed them so hope to get some info today.

Steve - That's looks like it alright. I see Bearmach do one. Just need to find out now the difficulty of the job - there's bound to be a youtube vid somewhere. I don't like the idea of cutting a new section and welding insitu - maybe patch for now and review next year as its only holed on one side on an easily accessible bit.

Hi Phil,
I wonder if you can drill the rivets out of the triangular body panel under the C post (5 minute job) would removing that panel give you enough access to slide the crossmember out? Otherwise it is trapped by the A frame chassis crossmember. Unfortunately I can't take a look at my Landie till the weekend.

I believe not.
There are 2 piece crossmembers available or at least there used to be, that were designed to be welded together in situ.
Spoke to someone at YRM today as getting a few repair sections of them for the bulkhead. From what I understand they do a 3 part galvanised crossmember but the guy mentioned removing part of the tub. As new to Landrovers I,m still a little unclear to work involved to do this job or the guys explanation. If it’s just a case of cutting out the old section and jacking up the body a few mm to fit the YRM 3 section parts I,d have a go but if it’s ends up a strip out job of floor panels inside at the rear I would get a little concerned - I already have to replace some bulkhead sections and have the dash and front floor pans stripped out at the moment and I need it back on the road soon. Anyone any knowledge or thoughts of fitting the YRM galvanised 3 pt. crossmember before I decide to patch or replace?
