Yeah you mentioned it a couple times already, have looked into it but not really what I had in mind. Will ask at my local. Thanks anyway

Defenders make ok wedding cars - depending on how you want to travel.. My daughter squeezed into my 90 hard top (which isn't green I'm afraid - but otherwise you'd be welcome) just before Christmas :)

I had to duct-tape a new tarpaulin inside - to be on the safe side (and having had to buy the dress) ...

Don't give up yet, try some of the local off roading club forums as well as here.

But as it's your wedding day are you sure a defender is the right vehicle, I know it's expected that the bride turns up late, but their not meant to be covered in oil after fixing the wedding car o the way :D

Haha not how I'd quite pictured it but a pretty reasonable vision yes! Thanks for your helpful comments I will look into the other forums as suggested :)

She sounds like my kinda girl! Such a shame you're all the way in the Isle of White!!

If you get really stuck and can't find an alternative, PM me and we'll see what can be managed (ferry fare for day return is about £75 in summer). I work in Leeds, which complicates things slightly, but fly up and back every week and am usually free on Saturdays.

Not desperate to do it, but wouldn't want your day to be spoiled.

More photos of my machine in "wedding mode" - not glamorous, I'm afraid (or green) ...

Thanks for sharing the photos, she looks great (bride and motor!!)

If you had the cash available, you could always buy one! Flog it on later ( or keep it when you realise what you've been missing!). You'll probably not lose any money!

very tempting!! Not really got that kind of spare cash just before the wedding unfortunately though!

She.. I'm the bride :)

Well it was a long shot and you don't get if you don't ask so was worth asking in my opinion.

I hadn't even thought about insurance to be fair. Our wedding is a pretty informal do, a friend doing our vows and getting married on a farm.

I'm not intent on hiring a big old glamorous classic car was just after a defender because I really like them :)

Nervermind anyway, thanks for thoughts and replies

You have a PM :)
