Hi folks. I have a 300tdi 130 cherry picker that the courier blew the engine on. New engine fitted and all running. Engage pto and i can get both booms to deploy and the basket to move, however, cant get the outriggers to move, any of them. Seems to be something stopping pressure. Anyone got any experience with these or could help. Cheers.
 
Would imagine they have isolated vales or locking pins, or even an electrical diverted if there are not enough spools
 
Nope nothing for the stabalisers. The main boom and basket all work perfectly and engine loads. All 4 stabalisers dont move and nothing when i move levers. Thats what makes me think im missing something.
 
Don't know much about cherry pickers in particular, but I assume the boom, stabilisers etc are all hydraulically operated from a pump on the pto. Given that boom etc works ok then the problem will be in the stabiliser circuit. Control will be by a bank of spool valves with a lever and spring return controlling each spool. If you swap a pair of hoses (feed & return) from a working circuit to the stabiliser circuit and vice versa you will know whether the valve or the external circuit is at fault. If is the valve it may be as simple as an o ring on the spool. If it is the external circuit the isolate each stabiliser in turn, blanking off the hoses to see which one is at fault. If it is one of the stabiliser cylinders then it may be the piston seal in the cylinder. As I said I don't know cherry pickers in particular, but I would imagine there is a check valve on the cylinder to stop it lowering off in the event of a burst hose, this could be at fault.

Many thanks all. It would seem that there is a set of manual spool valves with levers but would appear no pressure to them. There is a valve block where all tge pipes for the cylinders go to with two solenoids on it. I have checked voltage and get about 10.6v at them. Can hear a slight click, but still no pressure. If i move a lever firva cylinder and stand on it, it moves slightly, not under pressure purely on my weight.
 
Don't know who manufactured your cherry picker, but have had look in a versalift manual online and there is a selector valve which send fluid to either ground controls or boom controls. Daft question, but have you changed selector valve to ground position. Sensibly there should be one of these on all units so that stabilisers can't be lifted with someone up in the air
 
I will take some pictures and see if it makes sense to anyone. Thanks for all the advice. Now the diverter v/v sounds like a lead. What does that look like. Its a priestman cherry picker.

this makes perfect sense, i think this is the answer
 
I should try online to see if you can get a priestman hydraulic circuit, if you can get hold of one I may be able to make some suggestions.
 
Start from pump then, main feed from pump will probably go to a filter unit then a relief valve and on to diverter where it will split to either boom controls or ground controls.
 
There are only 3 levers in basket, up, down basket tilt and slew. All working. Just cant get the leg circuit to go live.
 
For boom legs , I would be surprised if there are controls in the basket for a safety point of view.

Bodgerrfa, This is the sort of problem where having eyes on can really make a difference, if you state your general locality it may be possible someone could pop over and have a look with you as two minds are definitely better than one on something like this.

Hey bud, in arbroath, scotland. I will upload a set of photos tomorrow night of all hydraulic controls etc.
 
If you have the hydraulic schematic diagrams ( normally on the side of the valves ) a photo would be useful.

Also , if there are any solenoid controlled valves see if they have the manual control pin on them.
