hi guys,im new to landys could someone tell me if a front and rear axle of a 2006 defender will fit on my 94 300tdi if so it a straight forward swap over and are there any pitfalls to it,thanks

The answer is both yes and no.
If I had them, I'd make them fit.
If you're buying them to fit, I wouldn't bother.
If they have ABS and TCS it will be a pain, you might end up changing the callipers. Your wheels might not fit over the disks. The drive flange is also different I believe and quite possibly the ratios.

thanks guys sounds like a right pain i wont be buying them after the advice much apreciated,up to what year and off what model will go straight on ?also i am wandering what my 90 300 tdi should be doing to the gallon at pressent i put £20.00 in and i get about 70 miles is this normal :eek:cheers

In answer to your mpg you should get around 28-32 so given that £20 is only just over 3 gallons you should get around 85 - 95 mpg. Don't believe your gauge though ... best way is to fill right up, do 100 miles, top it back up, see how many litres it takes to top up and do the maths ;)

Hi. Are the axles complete with hubs and brakes etc, if so the only difference with the 2006 axles is they might have abs sensors and the front might have vented discs. If they have abs just leave the senors in, it won't do any harm.
On my 300Tdi I'm using 2011 puma diffs, props, hubs, bearings, drive shafts and brakes etc in my 300 axle cases.

Stuart.

hi,i thanks for all your advise ill wait till i get the right axles, and ill try the full tank of diesel to check the mpg,
