For some reason I cannot fathom my dashboard clock (smiths industries finest?) just does not work.
If I press the time correcting button it will advance (slow, then faster, then megaspeed) but after you set it you can return to the car to find it has not advanced from the set time. The clock is supposed to be permanently powered, and indeed with the key out of the ignition pressing the set button can make the hands move (so power must be there) so why does it just "die". I can't see a simple way to remove it either to bench-test on a 12V source.
Anyone got any advice/ideas (apart from buy a watch).
