...sheesh, how long was I asleep for??
I'm familiar with all the D2 EAS issues, but mine has been doing my head in.

When I bought it, I checked with Nick Kerner, who said it had recently had a new compressor and rear bags. All was fine until after about 2 weeks I came out to find it squatting on the drive. It proceeded to do this intermittently, but only ever on my drive :confused:

I had an idea it might be because my drive slopes quite steeply down from the road ( estimate about 30 deg) so the car was parked nose down.

For a week I parked it on the road - no squatting. I have now been reversing into driveway, parking it with nose up - no squatting.


Has anybody else experieneced something like this?
 
some have had problems with the sensors on the rear, see if they are free from mud etc,
mine used to sit down, i looked and looked, in the end soap trick and i found a leaking bag,
1 had been replaced, not both, you should replace both at same time which the guy hadn't done, so that was my problem,
 
it could be a management intervention if the sensors are ending up in higher position than on even ground(i mean more extended)... if you want to rule this out and your car is safe leave it with battery disconnected over night once and if it doesnt drop this way then that's it... if it drops there's a puncture somewhere which leaks only on that position of the body(quite unlikely but possible)

and by the way it's SLS on D2 not EAS;)

yes of course it is - got my ACE mixed up with my SLS and out popped EAS :doh:

The cars ride height is normal when parked front down so it doesn't look like a management issue, unless the angle alters the stance enough to make the ecu think it needs to drop the back to level.
 
I have a similar issue, only mine happens if parked nose up, or on uneven ground or if I sit in the back if parked and engine off. Happened all the time when in my road trip recently, but not since. I think it may be the height sensors.

I have those tissues as well - except the nose up one.
 
Hmmmm; a really annoying problem. Would it be the height sensors? They seem easy to replace from what I've read.

Yes they aren't too bad - though ill try giving them a clean and tighten first

First i need to fix a more immediate problem - fecking tyre picked up a nail :mad:
 
I have always had an issue like this when working on the Disco and front, or rear is jacked well up. If its left this way for any length of time, it always needs to self level when you put it back on the ground. I'm on my second set of height scensors and still does it. Not an issue if no leaks.

That's pretty much as I suspected - been parking nose-up for two weeks now and not one squat. The issue is that when it sits I can't get out of driveway until its levelled, and to do this basically every day is going to put strain on the compressor, which is an issue.

Only thing is I'm nervous about my headlights parking with the nose towards street.


Actually, now that I think,. theres a D2 round t'corner from me that also always parks nose out, wonder if they have a slopey drive too - must go and check.
