Got them on mine. Easy to fit, all the bits are supplied.

OK, it won't stop the determined thief but it should slow the opportunist little scroat a bit, maybe even go look for something easier.

And I've got Torx pin security screws in my rear lamp clusters and registration plates ... paranoid or what?

I dont think they are especially easy to nick but they are expensive and fetch good money on ebay. Wonder whether any owners end up buying their own lights back?????

the fixings break easily, so easy to remove. steel screws through brass bushes in plastic dont help.

Next time you see D2 facelift headlights on ebay you'll be amazed at how many have " DAMAGE " around the fixing points.

You know the switch on the bonnet that tells the car it's down, is there a way to rig it to the lamps also?

So the alarm goes off if they are tampered with?

The current disco has the reg etched in the lights all round so are pretty much useless to anyone but I'd rather they didn't go walkies!.

I think similar switches as the bonnet switch behind the lights would at least raise the alarm?

Gav.
I have been looking at the idea of using the alarm circuit, utilising the bonnet switch wiring and extending it with a big long loop to the headlamp units and front aux driving lights.

I haven't yet got round to checking whether the bonnet switch is made or open cct while the bonnet is open.

If it's as I'm hoping; the switch is made when at standby and open cct when in the alarm condition, then I'll do a write-up on how I would include the lamps into the alarm circuit.

Nice idea though.

Don't think it would stop most thieves or buyers, if the explanation was that they were removed from an accident damaged right off, with rear end damage.

Agreed but it would hopefully/possibly be spotted by an eagle eyed cop and a quick check would reveal the donor car still on the road etc etc.

My idea with the alarm circuit would be better if the lights were also tethered with wire rope so an attempt to steal them would sound the alarm and the wire rope keep the lights tethered to the car??

Injecting a tracking chip into the thief's hand/leg/face as the alarm was triggered and then within 57 seconds a heat speaking missile is launched from the car and cuts the bastard in two is also a good idea that I hope one of you will pick up and run with in the near future!!!!!
