What peoples thoughts of ATF Dexron III - synthetic vs mineral? There is a vast selection available all aimed at Discovery 2 and a mix of mineral and synthetic, but what is best. Personally I am leaning towards synthetic as it would presumably be more resilient to heat.

can I use MANNOL Dexron III 3 Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF 8206 in a discovery 2td5 auto box

In my 37 years with two auto LRs which have only used Dexron mineral spec auto fluid which is semi synthetic without any issues… so what have I been missing ?

I would probably choose a more reputable brand

Nothing if that's all you can afford, but VLS regularly pull them up on approvals they claim to have but don't. The most recent one was their DOT 4 brake fluid which has now been referred to trading standards.

It's best to pick a good brand.
