I have a temp sensor in front of the radiator/next to the LR emblem on my L-series. Max im seeing there when im at a standstill is around 60C. But that is kinda far away from the engine.

Theory is nice... but practice is better
@ Winu ..

weren't thinking of your set-up ..
had visions of a huge ss engine cover filling most of the engine bay ..
guess i gotta cut down on smoking this weeeeed :)

quite like what you've done to yours .. i.e. re the intake 'n intercooler tubing ..
aim to do similar to mine .. only 'cause i get tired of taking much apart simply to get to the air-filter :-/)

Engine bay temperature won't get to 100 ° C on a TD4. The V6 can nudge 70° C and that dumps enormous amounts of heat into the engine bay.

I had my doubts firstly...

HG was done by previous owner of the Rover, due to an oil leak
VCU was replaced by previous owner, as preventative maintenance

Best basis for this project :D
