Provisionally for sale, buying in a truck from the states and just sorting out shipping with the seller

In the truck is an 8.3L Cummins ISC which is like a 6BT on roids!

Gauging interest really, if someone wants it I'll take a deposit when the truck lands in the UK and the rest once its been removed and palleted.

It'll come with an Allison 5 speed auto with all the wiring, I'm ripping it out and breaking the truck up for parts basically

Long story short.......bought some Rockwells off a seller, got offered the truck off him for a bit more as it would include everything I need and it turns out its pretty cost effective, don't need the engine or bodywork so thats all up for grabs/scrap

Probably in the region of £1500 ?

hell that will never fit into a Defender, Darn thing weight 2000 lbs and trans is another 750-1000 lbs.

That is a lorry/commercial truck engine

out of army trucks

used in buses, fire trucks, stationary engines and for marine application

I'd seen the heavy ind. uses, looks good for gennys etc but at pushing 3/4ton I'd have thought landy applications would be limited (Perentie appn?)...

Probably more use in a mog/c303 or a 'rodded Optare "loaf tin" bus... :D

As far as I can find a dry 300tdi is about 200 kg and afaik a 3.5v8 is about 300kg wet (I await clarofication :)).

As hard as the 101 and 130 are, *if* the Cummins v 300 Weights are *owt* like accurate, I reckon half a ton extra over the front axle *may have an adverse effect on handling... ;)

Hell motor, trans ( allison) radiator, innercooler, and trans cooler, oil cooler and all the fluids is tipping the scale at close to 4000lbs . Will be hard on the axle, springs, wheel bearing, and swivel balls won't handle the weight

For reference a 6bt is 500 dry
You have under estimated the weight:rolleyes:
