Just bought RR p38 at weekend.
Cruise control not working or is it fitted.
No manual with it. Presume motorway sign middle of dash switches cruise on, Pressed in no light or sign on dash.
If that button is fitted will it have cruise?
If I have what are the possible remedies?

Many Thanks
Colin

2.5 diesel auto (BMW)
Does it make any difference what fuel?

Yes a bloody big difference, diesel is operated by engine ECU, petrol is all pipes and levers and vacuum pumps. Look at fuse 17 under drivers seat.

I am newbie to the Range Rover>
Will check fuse in morning in daylight.
Is fuse 17 for anything else?

Thanks Wammers.

Depends what year your car is. Go to "How to" section at top of page and look in my EAS how to, link to RAVE workshop manuals in there. Download and take a look for yourself

Daft question
when at speed did you push the button on the steering wheel to "lock" speed?
The dash switch only powers it! Its the streeing wheel buttons that control it

Good point if the tell tale bulb is blown in the switch.

Worth checking the vacuum pipes, especially at the connection point near the bellows in the engine bay. Often perishes here and leaks. Its behind the eas box on the passenger side.

Diesel cruise control is controlled using the engine ECU, check both brake pedal switches....if this hasnt been mentioned previously.
