Hi can you help ordered replacement crank pulley for me P38 diesel, but looking down at the one on the engine looks like the fan is connected to the bolt on the pulley, I'd this normal or hard to remove, thanks in advance.
The fan is on the water pump shaft, not the crank pulley.

If the impeller is broken up, make sure you get all the bits out.
Viscous fan can be nightmare if it’s never been off - is REVERSE thread - little coppaslip on refit will stop it happening again.
Good burping of the coolant system top right hose when you are done.

Maybe check your thermostat while you are there if you’ve not changed it before.

And be gentle when removing the belt - tensioner arm is weak and twisting it will snap and cost £90
Ask me how I know

Not minky111's fault mate, the forum has eaten too much cucumber.
After posting, you have to wait for the buffering flag in the top right corner to disappear before you do anything. then you have to refresh the page to see if the post is actually there, you may have to do it more than once.
No need for high speed internet, the site is so slow it takes my back to the days of dial up internet
