Nothing to bolt to! I’ll try and make some sort of finger bar type thing and see how that goes

No need put the correct crank bolt socket on it and whack it. I don’t have 1 but know JM has posted it a few times so if he says it’s good and works I trust him.

All sorted. These are what I had to make to get the old crank bolt out and get the new one in.

We’re you getting a chirp when you switched the engine off? I had that’s for a while then a horrible rattle which was it failing, luckily realised what it was before it self destructed.

Shame I didn’t see this sooner, I had a tool plasma cut out of 6mm sheet for the job.

Nope! I would say it's down to poor quality castings but it had lasted 16 years! o_O I can say though that 460nm is f*ing tight!!!

Is a bit isn’t it! Tool I had made was 900mm long, torque wrench I borrowed a bit longer than that and it still took all the strength two of us had to do the thing up.

I don’t know if it’s my imagination but the engine seems to drive smoother since doing all this

I thought the same. Think the rubber damper giving up must have some effect. Not much point it being there otherwise I guess!
