all about defender thefts now - expect there to be a spate of thefts, good old John is telling everyone how easy they are to steal and how saleable they are!!!

ffs.

not word to help make them more secure, even if they did jon prob show us how to get passed it.
That tractor key priceless

I saw that and now I am paranoid:Cry:
I know mine aint the prettiest, but I'd be gutted if it were twokked:Cry:

Hopefully the idiots dont have countryfile high on there lists of what they watch
unless they read about it here and watch it on iplayer :mad::mad::mad:

I can't really believe what I'm watching!! Decking ridiculous! Advertising all of our land rovers and their parts and ease to obtain!! Tempted to write to the BBC! Shall we all?

The media has too much influence of what happens in this world. I do believe the media put this country in to recession with constant negative talk. Now they do this. They should start to consider the implications of the reports rather than trying to make a good headline.

I was waiting for them to start saying ways to avoid theft; but I'm glad they didn't go in to much detail, that would have given away more secrets.

Now to do the typical British thing, where do I send the letter to?

It took them an hour to take it apart?! I want to know how, when I try taking my Land Rover apart the bolts either sheer or they are on so tight that it would take three heavyweight boxers to undo! Yeah why advertise are Land Rovers makes things a whole lot worse, I am expecting a rise in the number of posts in stolen section!

Fer those who missed it, you can see it over here - starts at 11 minutes: BBC iPlayer - Countryfile: 03/04/2011

Don't think anyone on ere has anything to worry about. Yer rusty ole buscuit tins are only worth scrap value, when weighed in.

Fer those who are worried, then have a look at skytag GPS Tracker
When paying for it, enter the code "lro10" to receive the lro mag discount offer. This means the price is only £90, rather than £249. There's also a subscription thing to keep it going afterwards of £6.99 per month if I understand it correctly.

Pretty factual report. I can't see why we're all moaning - thefts won't rise much more than they already are (high) as those that nick them know what they're doing. Not many thieving chav scum watch Countryfile, and perhaps a bit more attention will force the police and LR to do a bit more to make them secure.

I also watched that and thought exactly the same, not every1 knows the true value of a defender but they sure as hell do now!! What a joke!!!!!!

Just because no one wants to steal your gaylander incase it breaks down on route home! Or they have to go across a field and we all know they don't like wet grass let alone MUD.

I think something like 2014 for a 'new' Defender. It's not just security, it's all stuff like pedestrian collision regs etc.

And all that crash test ****.
But they will continue to make the defender as it is noe, but over seas for the 3rd world market and more basic, ie more like they were or that's what the LR experience man told me:p

We all know that they're easy to steal and strip, but we don't need John Craven broadcasting that fact to all and sundry

He really is a prize cünt, he seemed to relish in the fact that they could be stolen and stripped in next to no time :(

.

Also giving out prices for what bits are worth! WTF!
So it's quick to strip, worth a couple grand in parts and there is a good demand for said parts! Thanks John, nob.

I did snigger when they said it was all about defenders and one of the trio of 'fenders was a series 3 :) it was a mint one though, nice.

It could go either way I guess, make things worse through advertising it or better through publicising it.
