Because obviously its me. I am cursed with land rovers. The nice 'new' (to me) 2009 defender hasn't lasted 200 miles before

wobbly mirror
engine management light.

Seriously! Engine management is totally going to be EGR valves, came on as ticked over 73k. Like it was programmed to! and the passenger mirror is limp on the motorway. so that needs replacing.

Already forked out for pedal lock, dead lock, bonnet security over the 2 weeks!

Rant over. I need to get used to this. Think i will just book a monthly slot in at the garage!

All cars need regular maintenance. Defenders, perhaps a little more than average.

Defenders need to be given more love than the mrs.
Touched, stroked & talked to nicely
When they are happy all is good
But when in a mood oooohhhhh.

Assuming the mirror is the same as earlier defenders a 4mm allen key to tighten the bolt underneth the head will sort it out quickly

No. No no no no no, Nay, nay and thrice nay ... Hit the b'stards, whack 'em, use hammers and the wrong size spanners, they love the abuse.

When they go wrong is when you talk nicely to 'em ... an odd "please work" with a tear in the corner of one's eye often works ... though that's usually a by-product of trying to fix 'em ..

But yes, definitely enjoy them ... ;)

Haha! I know, i have had several before so know this is all part of the course. However i had got used to my *thrilling* but ultimately comfy and RELIABLE Volvo and Audi. Ah its not the end of the world, just forgot they need money. All the time!!
