Have you tried changing the coolant ensuring you use the correct mixture??
Had same issue on my TD6, fitted new sensor to no avail, coolant level was fine in the reserviour, finally sussed out that it was due to not having enough 'antifreeze' mixture within the coolant.

Faults never re-occurred since flushing coolant (3+ years ago!)
I checked out the link that @goldrover posted and it mentionec the specific grabith of the coolant ta. I am still undecided wether to buy it. The last two mot's have advised rear brake pipes and it looks like they have been ignored. Not a thing I personally do

I had all my brake pipes done the moment I noticed I had a slight leak. Bloody pig of a job by all accounts. I got a good price and a good job by Gibsons. Even at a crap price , it's not a job to be ignored. Best to steer well clear of this particular vehicle Alan. Looks like he doesn't maintain it properly.
