shifty heres one for you, i was thinking, if a td5 doesnt have an injector pump, it could run off heating fuel as it wouldnt need the pump lubricating ?
Correct! A TD5 will run on heating oil (dont ask how I know ;)) but I'd always add a drop of engine oil as lubrication for the injector internals. If you get caught there is no provision in law for even authorised users of red diesel to use heating oil. You'd defo get a huge fine and likely lose your motor to the revenue boys.

Diesel, Heating oil, 35 second fuel oil, is exactly the same thing

the thirty five second rule is the amount of time it takes to run a certain distance down an angled groove
35 seconds = Derv Etc
28 seconds = Paraffin/kerosene

The only difference between any 35 second oil is the dye and chemical markers added.
Why do you think the pikeys steal heating oil? Its not to heat their oil fired caravans.

excellent, nexst question where do i find heating oil ?
Google it. Buy it. Or steal it. ;)

Heating oil is not as cheap as it used to be though. And you normally need to buy it in bulk to get the best prices. Smallest amount some places do is a 45 gallon oil drum.

Right its been 5 weeks now, we're away for 2 more, i'll drain the water off when i get back and filter it, and see what it looks like. I'm hoping there's not much water in it

just started using veg oil in my disco td5. running a 60% diesel 40% veg oil mix with no problems,
although on start up it takes a split second longer to start. than normal.
no other problems, no power loss etc
bought a 20lt bottle from bookers cash and carry in oban for £19.59 :dance:

Water separates! It collects it the tank when there's enough it'll stop it! Cos it sucks it up instead of fuel, if its held in suspension in the fuel it's not so bad, that's how some additives shift it, thing is it'll corrode your fuel system parts over time too! I do a lot of work on narrow boats that run red diesel, it's not full of water, it's rare to find much in a water trap when you do it's normally down to a filler cap leaking letting rain water in

I've seen it kept in wheely bins and watering cans before now.
Pikeys aint picky where they keep it so long as they dont have to pay for it.

So we're talking about stolen red diesel? Well if people put it in their cars they deserve everything they get!
