Got a weird problem, hoping someone can help us!! got a 2005 range rover 4.4 petrol, just lately I get in it and turn the key and nothing, try a few times and nothing but once I lift the bonnet to have a look or even with just the opening of my door, it will start, sometimes saying transfail or inactive suspension. If I turn it off once it does start then back on, everything is fine, will be for the rest of the day!!
Would be grateful for any advice...……..oh we are driving to north wales next weekend, so I wanna sort it before then!!

First check is always the battery voltage, engine off you should have at least 12.6 volts, with the engine runnig you should have over 14.6 volts. Low battery voltage causes all manner of problems.

Im going to check that in the morning, all I keep thinking is when I had a p38 and took the battery off to replace it I had various problems after!! if I can remember rightly I had to keep drivers door open or something !

I think you have 30 seconds to replace it (or something like that) or you have to reset the windows, and some other bits I cant remember

That's right, I remember now doing the windows and sun roof one after the other!!
