Have to say I found the same thing with Ford forums. Having bought a Mondeo earlier in the year (for her indoors to use for work etc.) the one & only time I had a query I found the forums a waste of time.

Oy yoos lot,

this is the posh Range Rover bit, for us what is posh with Range Rovers.

Take yur waffle elsewhere :blabla::blabla::D:D:behindsofa:

Just been on there again and saw these, great examples of posts that help me feel superior:

'Just wondering if anyone could shed any light on anti-roll bars for me, i have no idea what they do '
Clue is in the name I believe.

'The driver's side wiper on my daughter's 1999 clio suddenly stopped moving tonight though the passenger side still works. I assume that there is some kind of linkage between the motor and the arms under that plastic cover?'
It's a fair assumption.

'Was going to fit new brakepads this evening but having a hell of a job in removing the roadwheels. Had the tyres changed about 4 - 5 months ago and there didn't seem to be a problem then.
I spent about 15 minutes hitting the wheel with a rubber faced mallet trying to free it off but that failed.
Any experts there that can advise me on safest, quickest & quiet method on removing the wheel ?'
Believe it or not, this generated several pages of helpful replies!

'When holding the steering wheel and turning there's an amount of travel on the wheel before the tyres actually turn. These seems to be getting worse and worse. Is this the so-called tracking that people mention? Normal? Dangerous?'
Does he really think this would be normal?

Went onto a merc forum to see if anyone had the same problem as myself C250 DIESEL all i got was witch hotel to stay in on way to monte carlo +someone who was willing to diagnose my prob for £50 pack o tossers ,me own fault shudder known better tsk

This forum is so good it has virtually replaced the TV for me.
Only watch DVDs now, want to get into this blue-ray lark.

I agree - tried to find out how to access the speakers in an SLK, removing door cards with least damage etc. via Merc Forums - useless. The speakers still need changing!!!years on.

This business about taking out engines (almost) to change a headlight bulb is true - Smart Cars have to practically be dismantled to do so, several hundred pounds later!!!! according to the official Mercedes policy.Bit like Land Rovers blend motors "remove the entire dash policy"!!! Luckily, some Smart independents have got a workaround which costs the price of the bulb, about a fiver, and is included if you are having other work done, or costs about £20 and takes around 45 minutes for both bulbs.

So? Wot is it? Enlighten me please.

No, Howardo - i didnt see the prog; but i cant see how that alters the fact that some companies definately charge only £5.99 to change a bulb. That is a fact!

Changing h-lamp bulbs on DAF XF cabs the book says to remove trim panel (remember to buy set of anti-tamper screw-drivers) remove h-lamp shell etc. etc. OR just put overalls on lay on your back & do it ! Guess which method garage charges for, and which they do?
To get back on subject tho` I didn`t remove inner mud guards when replacing air sus. bags. But did have second pair of hands to ease them up a little.
Or even nearer 1st post, yes this forum better than TV but then so`s a visit to the dentist !

it was me who mentioned the prog MHM,i know halfrauds only charge a small amount to change a bulb,i bet they wont change a headlight bulb on the fat arsed megane for a fiver though.

headlight bulbs on the new zafiras are fun too. You have the air filter on the drivers side and the ABS unit on the passenger side.
