My usual mechanic is busy until mid next week.
Does anyone have a code reader to read the 'Transmission fault' code on my FL2?
Land Rover are charging £150 just to read the code!

Based in Bristol or Bath.. willing to drive to you and pay!
Once we know what it is we can fix it, but don't want to replace the haldex if it isn't that.

Massive thanks!

Put the £150 towards the purchase of a Gap Diagnostics IID BT tool. It's by far the best diagnostic tool around and will save you it's cost many times over.

They're £400 new, rather pay a friend next week £50 to read it at the moment!
They are but they are worth the money. You can use it many times over a couple of years and it'll save you a more than it's purchase price. Then if you decide to move away from LR. You can sell the IID for over £300!!. The initial outlay is high. But it'll save you a small fortune and doesn't deprecate much in the process. ;)

Remember it's not just a diagnostic tool. It's able to update software in the ECUs too. Not even LR dealers can do that without authorization from LR HO.

"The cruise control buttons are used to enter and navigate the menu" - WFT is "Cruise Control"? Is it something to do with temper? Can I change my temper with buttons? Other than my right foot, how does my temper talk to the L Series and PG1 ?

Looking through the feature list on their site that the little old Freelander can control is mind boggling and just goes to show how much can go wrong on them! I'm sure an F2 would collapse in a heap if if had to put up with the dampness that I usually find on my F1 - if the windows/sunroof/heater matrix isn't leaking, the dog leaves a pint of river/rain water in it after his daily walk. :D:D:D
