I’m sure they work ok otherwise it would be pointless fitting one when off to kill foreigners.
Ask the supplier to recommend the correct pressure bearing.

all should be good.
Yes that makes sense, dont think the Army would have used them if they were no good.
Will emai Paddocks to see which parts to use with it.

Your engine has the early pressure plate.
I have no experience of them but think it needs different gear box as fingers will not hit later release bearing.
Changing the pressure plate should solve the issue i believe.
Hopefully some one else will confirm.

Thanks Need to make sure before I go and order bits.
Might be easier to change pressure plate if that is possible.

We could do with some washed up excuse for a military spanner monkey who spent his time hiding in the nafi polishing his micrometer.

I bet @gemsdad would know someone.

Feckin useless cnut you are Bobsticle,i left messing about with landrovers to the REME,they are the grease monkeys,my job was to blow crap up and do lots of other stuff to kill the ruskies, far far more interesting, anyone want a bar mine layer, lol.

Paddocks don't know they say they don't sell that fork anymore. So what's my solution now ,? Can I fit a newer pressure plate on my engine with clutch plate I have ??

Called in to local landy shop, he says a 9 and half inch clutch kit will fit so will order one of them,

Please tell me this is right got clutch kit today , Im certain the plate is centralized ok, but when I fitted the cover it would not line up at all with the 2 dowels, only way it would go was to put one of the dowels in the hole but the other was not in any, first pic is bottom dowel in hole, second shows dowel not in any hole. everything is flush up against flywheel with no gaps though, bolts are just nipped , not torqued yet.
On the Origional earlier 3 prong cover plate both holes lined up to both dowels,

If you look at 12 o clock on mi photo,
The centre hole of the three has a dowel sticking out of it.

there are three of these round the perimeter.

Yes mine has those same 3 holes on cover but only 2 dowels on flywheel and the centre hole fits either top or bottom in pic , but other does not line up. the bolt holes only line up when one of the dowels are in either centre hole, if you get what I mean.

It looks like the flywheel is different also.
I’d back pedal a bit and get a pressure bearing that works with your first set up. They must be around and must work.
The clutch cover and flywheel must be balanced or it’s going to drive like a pair of trainers on full spin.

Showed the mechanics pics at landy place and they agree that flywheel was set up for clutch that came with it, But and they said that the dowels are just to locate it and as long as the 6 bolt holes line up and everything is is in place which it is, that I should just get rid of that bare dowel and tourqe it up.
