Hi we have started a project to get a land rover up and running that has been a little neglected for two years
after charging the battery the engine started but on trying to press clutch a snap noise was heard and it has gone very soft only the internal spring is pulling it back up.
the bonnet catch pull also snapped when trying to release but sorted this
Land rover 110 1990 TDI

Sounds like the clutch may need bleeding - had the very same thing happen on mine a few weeks back.

I had the ball punch through the clutch fork on my old 110, that made a snap noise and as i coasted down the hill the police pulled up beside me and asked why i was going so slow. I said clutch has gone and he said it will be the clutch fork and he was right but never stopped to help. Left it in third and got it home. Engine out is the easiest repair. Hope it is pedal or hydraulics.

Behind the pedal? Have you looked at the master cylinder? Or the pedal box assembly?
