As mentioned in my other thread had a premature clutch failure - after about 2/3yrs and 6000miles.

I'm wondering if it's failed early due to an error I've made.

Going to change it this weekend via taking the engine out. It's been a while since I've done this any tips?

I was going to lift the engine with gearbox still attached up a bit, wedge a bit of wood between gearbox and cross member, then undo the bell housing bolts and pull the engine off the input shaft. That's what i did last time.

I'll see exactly why it's failed when I take it out.

I may change the spigot bush as i didn't do it last time.

So yeh any tips or advice much appreciated

Edit - i'm fitting a 130 clutch

That is the way I do mine, after disconnecting everything and removing grill and rad frame lift engine a bit to free off engine mounts undo bell housing and out.
Unless the spigot is visible worn and oval leave alone, just a tad of copperslip on it going back.
Find the fail point, can be the plate centre, friction plates, clutch fork. Look for crank output seal oil leak even a bit as now is the time to do it . Same for box input shaft. Also a good time to replace clutch slave.

Not the clutch per se bit while the engine is out and you have good access to the bulkhead it’s a good time to tape up the loom/apply sound deadening/paint etcetera
 
Well that was an easy problem to diagnose...

WTF? How often does that happen. Very annoying as this was a refurb box less that 5kmiles ago

Who did you have the box from. I would give them a bell an have a moan given the low miles. First time I have seen input shaft go like that. they may send you a new one. Mind you the way that that shaft has gone it almost looks like it is made of a rod inside a tube and you might not want another like it.

I would give them a ring, and say money back or small claims court.

That shaft is clearly not fit for purpose.
