I removed, painted and rebuilt the brake and clutch boxes, pedals etc. I also replaced the clutch master, brake master and servo.

I'm now wondering how I can check these work prior to driving post bleeding. I.e. looking for that soft pedal.

For my brakes am I correct to say I should I have a soft pedal, but if pumped, it will get progressively harder. With the engine started the pedal should then soften and move towards the floor (due to the servo)?

The clutch pedal feels really heavy. What do I need to look for here?

Clutch is heavy.
Have you got the over center spring type or the older version.
I fitted the oc type which helps a lot.

I'm not sure I know what you mean here.... From memory, there is a spring attached to the center of the front of the pedal and that goes up to one of the bolts holding on the pedal box... Or maybe i'm speaking rubbish.

That is just the standard pedal return spring. A over center spring can be retro fitted to lighten the pedal. Your servo test is right.

This is mine, I haven't removed the old spring yet:rolleyes: but you can see the oc spring.

So does that spring pull the pedal back up into position? I assume if you are getting better results with it, it must be 'softer' than the single spring, making it easy to put your foot to the floor?

No, it makes the pedal easier to push down.
I know how it does it but I can't describe how it does it lol.

It is an "over center" spring, the first part of the movement is quit hard but then the spring goes over center and helps pull the pedal down. It is like one of them opening key rings where the latch is hard to shut to start with but then snaps closed as it over center's
