Couple of questions. How much did you give for it in the first place? (that's probably as good an indicator of what it's worth than anything), and what age was it supposed to be? ie what age was the vehicle they took the ID from to clone it?

I paid £3800 for it. On a K plate. I thought that was fairly good price for the condition etc. It will be reborne as an N reg.

Aren't you guys forgetting the poor bastard that had this vehicle stolen off him in the first place? Surely he wants his pride and joy back too!

Na. That was over a year ago. Im sure he was ****ed at the time but he got paid out by his insurance. I have his details. Was thinking about getting in touch and asking how much they paid him ? Probably wont though. Bad form ?

I paid £3800 for it as a K reg. Now its an N reg but a CAT D N reg.

Sorry, i missed that you'd already answered.

were you not slightly suspicious that the landrover was a 300tdi when on a K plate it should have been a 200?

Anyway, perhaps if you posted a decent picture i could give you a better idea. but ballpark figure if it's reasonably tidy it should still be worth what you originally paid for it, the cat D status won't make a lot of difference to the value of a vehicle of that age.

Just so you know, I think these ringers should be strung up.
On the strength of that, I reported the ebay Disco to Notts police.
They'll probably be too busy trying out their new tailgatiing cameras, but you gotta try.
Stating ID for sale in the advert is just taking the p155 in my opinion

Hi there, I am really sorry for you, it's just that Defenders are one of the most desirable of all LRs to light fingered scum bags. I have friends with Defenders who are really paranoid about parking their cars up when they are away from home.

Hope it all ends well for you.

Cheers

Hi. Just a quick update. Bought the defender for £900 off the insurance company. Spent about another £400 getting new plates, new MOT, Vin Plate etc.

Its now about 4 years newer whick I guess is good ?

Will just chalk it up to a learning experience.

ALWAYS CHECK ALL THE CHASSIS NUMBERS AND THE ENGINE NUMBER ARE IN PLACE AND MATCH UP WITH THE RECORDS !!!!!
