Last night whilst on a bit of a mission i developed a "clicking" sound coming from the front right. On a normal car i'd say it was the cv joint but my mates thinks it may be a half shaft?

Our either likely? It happens most when turning left....

does it click at all times? full lock? intermittent?

mine does that on both sides when on full lock.
according to my preferred Indy (who I trust) "it's the CV joints beginning to go but no need to worry for several thousand miles yet".

I replaced mine cos they were clicking, an looking at the old uns they'd have lasted fer donkeys years.

Intermitant. Its normaly fine on the road unless on quite a hard lock. It isnt the tyres rubbing..

Are they expensive to replace?

Pends wot you mean by expensive, Haddocks do a kit. Try squirting a load of CV joint grease in the filler hole, it quietened mine down a fair bit.

Ok. I'll be able to fit it myself with my mates help. How much is a new cv joint likely to cost?

They are £24 each from Paddocks, might as well do yer swivels at the same time - about another £15 for bearings, pins, gaskets and a bottle of One-Shot
