Classics were built for many years. They don’t all drive or handle the same. The p38 is better in every way but it isn’t the original.

My point exactly, the keyword here is 'original' Back then if you were in the market for a performance vehicle with handling to match then you bought one, if on the other hand a RR's abilities did it for you then that's what you bought. The world has moved on & that huge conglomerate JLR designs products to suit today's market which consists largely of poseurs (my impression) so that's what the company caters for & who can blame them?
The fact that I wouldn't touch their products with a barge pole won't make the slightest difference to JLR's share prices

Most people would have to do at least a double take at 100 yards to even tell the difference between a p38 and an RRC. They have essentially the same shape. The p38 just addresses a lot of the design deficiencies in the classics. Your metrocab claim is as lame as it is irrelevant.
So they don't look like a metro Cab?

I guess a Series II looks like a Fairway, cos it’s got round headlights then?
They look the same in the injun bay.
Maybe no one else has noticed it, maybe I'm the only person to say it but they do look like metro cabs. They got dated very quickly.

I think you are taking it a bit extreme and maybe being a little obtuse about it. Considering this is meant to be an enthusiasts and owners site.

I’ve owned RRC’s and D1’s. And this is my current p38. If it’s dated so be it. But it certainly looks “Range Rover” to me. If it doesn’t to you, then frankly I feel that is your loss not mine.

To be honest, I can see the Metrocab in the P38. There are certain styling cues which if you squint enough, you'd think "man, my cataracts are really bad, I could've sworn that Metrocab was a Range Rover."

Then that’s is equally true of saying the look like a classic RR too. The only real difference is square vs round headlights.

Frankly the P38 looks nice as does the classic.

Best comparison shot above..

Frankly the P38 and classic look very similar so in my eyes, the Metrocab comparison can be had for the classic aswell??

Maybe, but the classic looked how it looked before the metro Cab came along. It can look dated cos it's old, and called a classic for a reason. P38s aren't particularly modern looking in a late 90s motor. Not sure how thinking that is a loss but only a snowflake would get upset about it. It's a couple of generations old now and looking it. Not a bad place to site but wouldn' look at one longer than I had to. Not sure how the classic got displayed in the Lourve but it is what it is.

Damn the back of the metro can is pure p38. Which came first? The bonnet slopes off alarmingly though so no room for a v8.
One thing that separates the metro from the p38..........reliability. ours are much less reliable.

Yes metrocab, Its what you use when your classic has rusted away.

That scenario can be avoided, or at least the process slowed considerably, by having corrosion prevention treatment on a regular basis ... you just have to be prepared to spend money by committing to an effective regime.

im going to jump in here...i think the classic is a way better looking than the p38...but i drive one every day..
when i got my first one ...my friends called it the pope mobile...
