Are you trying to cover holes that have appeared where the floor touches the the floor cross members?

Absolutely!
If you decide to rivet it in, make sure you buy aluminium rivets so they don't react with the aluminium floor and load liner. Treat the rivets on the outside with dinitrol or similar.
Or, you could just bond it in. It's not as though it's going to be under any load against the adhesive! Make sure you get a good bond around the edges to prevent moisture getting between the two.
Are you planning on carrying a lot of rough, heavy stuff?

I carry a full load of loose wood twice a week so reckon it should be fine with the adhesive, I just like the idea of doing it the strongest way, but yes I think you’re right, it won’t go anywhere!

theres some ply in mine painted body colour stops the dints off rubble and comes out easy to sweep/hose underneath

I done my mates with Sikaflex & I use it on boats every week for all sorts of jobs but don't expect to remove
it easily lol
You could also paint it with raptor paint & tint it to the same colour as your motor ;)

3 ffs greedy guts... we used to get some lurvly big cod here now we get nowt :(

Could you use rivnuts and stainless bolts rather than rivets? You can unbolt it then to check underneath?

I drilled 2 holes in my tub so the water can drain out, mines a pick up :/

I replaced the linear with 3mm chequer plate. I used the same holes to rivet it in and used tiger seal. Ten years later it is still going strong.
