Hi,

Im wanting to repalce my tatty door cards on my defender with chequer plate as they will be much easier to clean and would give a much better look than my originals.

Iv had a look round the internet and can only find the chequer plate for a rear door and not the side doors!

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Cheers, Scott

I agree leave the chequer plate to the out side if anywhere. (I have it on my front wings that's only because I messed my wing tops up taking my bonnent off a million times!!)

Make your own! Save a load of money and get that wickes style job satisfaction.

Tho not to my taste, im pretty sure no one makes them but im sure it wouldnt be hard, couple of hours with a grinder and your done. If your going for cleanability here plain ally or stainless sheet might be a better option here.

Went in the bogs in a Newquay pub today and the whole of the cubicle was made of chequer plate. I thought I was having an Acid flashback & having a bad trip Bog is probably the best place for the stuff

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of chequer plating used in moderation. In fact, the inside of you doors is probably a good place to have it, as long as it's black so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. You'll be able to kick the door open Arnie style straight through into the car next doors window.

Don't do it. It will be like having a cheese grater strapped to your doors.:doh::doh:

Everytime you turn a corner you will remove another slice of skin.

Not to mention the heat retention and glare in the sun and the additional weight to the hinges. Bloody daft idea! Thinner ali might be better, or maybe some fur.....

Mark Evans made some chequer door cards in his how "4x4 is Born". Think they were SIII doors. It would be a bit too bling form my scabby old truck.

do a search , thers a guy advertising some on hear earlier in the year , bout jan / feb time, think he was pressing them out his self
