i have read all of this thread thank you, just cos you are fed up of it doesn't mean everyone is,maybe some would like to see what the outcome is on this little puzzle.:croc:

Is anyone doing that? Are the cops coming back to us? Has there been any response? Are they interested?

Unsurprisingly, given the way nothappy was abused.

FFS..give it a rest...She received a lot of advice and offers of help. She chose to ignore them, still hasn't posted pictures which could get her an answer within seconds or measured the bloody thing.

End of the day, there is no doubt they knew they were 'avoiding' the road tax, the police don't seem interested cos it involves a lot of time for very little reward. I doubt its a criminal case, proving the owners acted illegally would be difficult..they were possibly acting in good faith if a little naive..however if they now sell it on as a 1965 88" then they would be being dishonest after all the info they have received to the contrary.

I hope they get it sorted and registered as whatever it truly is. To be honest, if they get it registered as a later 90 they will possibly get more for it than they would as the 1965 88" !!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I did a little research elsewhere, but there's not a lot of info on what happens to these kinds of cars. I guess its only worth the parts value now, so someone will buy it and break it for parts, if not the current owner.

yep,tis good for scrap.dodgey plate has seen to that.400 quid tops...:eek:

it says built on a rangey chassis. 2be honest i agree because if you look close at the side view, its longer than a 90. its obviously a 100inch chassis plus its got a homemade rear x member

im not saying it should have that i.d on. but it aint a defender 90 either, look at pic under bonnet. the radiator is far back like on a series. just wi a defender grill

well say that over the years i have rebuilt and changed my series 2a 109 about and fitting a brand new shortened 110 chassis, a 200 tdi and disco axils I take it that mine would be classed as stolen if i ever put it on ebay, not that it would ever be for sale !

just too many mardy bastards on here kicking off just cause there tax exempt !

fair enough if its just a plate swap but some of us that can spend years modifing the landys with baught parts !

thats the point tho. you built yours with bought parts (probably with receipts to prove it) and it will still have some original parts too allowing it to be dated back to its original year.

Most of these motors have never seen the year they are claiming to be. If you look at the first one it is a defender with series plates, there is a range rover with depender body that should be on a q reg & someone selling a plate and although he doesnt mention putting it on a vehicle a £100 starting price is pretty pricey to just put on your wall
