Hi I have a 2003 Range Rover Vogue L322 3.0 TD Auto. I brought it 6 months ago, I got it cheap due to the "Check Engine " light on the dash not lighting up. It has a LED not a bulb, and with the key is position 2 and the test button on the cluster held, the "Check Engine Light" works. But when you go to start the car, it does not light up.

I have put my OBD11 on it, and no faults. Can any one help ?.
Thanks
Jason

See if the hand brake light comes on if not seems like someone pulled the fuse so they can watch tv/dvd on the move you don't get video with hand brake off mate not for sure forget wich fuse look and see what missing.

Welcome to the mad house and thanks for the info.

The check engine light doesn't come on in the td6s its too old for it too be a requirement, it comes up on the digital display if theres an engine fault,

Mine was the same and i thought it was broken, i had seen a few posts on the facebooks of loads of peoples td6s being the same so don't worry

The MIL light comes up on a P38 and as far as I know if a MIL indicator light is fitted it has to illuminate during the lamp test when the ignition is turned on. The TD6 is younger than a P38.

It definitely is, and its after 2008 for diesels it has too for mot,, 4.4 v8s bmw era do.
My e46 320d e39 530d and e46 330d 02 and 03 plates and my pals 03 x5 the engine light is there and will come on via diagnostics if the light command is sent but they never pre light on ignition either

Our td6s get a bong and engine failsafe prog in the message center on the dash,
Or if you have a fuel pressure problem it bong and comes up fuel inj system,

Euro 4 m57tu engines monitored alot more and used the normal eml lamp, our m57d euro 3 engine don't,

I amm going to go check my 730d with the M57...I am intrigued now!!!

Further to....this is my M57 powered 730d, same engine as the 330d, 530d and the TD6 Range Rover....my Check Engine Light comes on with ignition and off once started - curious, but I think this is the TU engine so as mentioned bu @stustrong it may have changed for the update....vid below:

That's a new one on me. As far as I was aware, every indicator light in the instrument cluster should do a test cycle, that's ABS, SRS, oil pressure, low fuel etc. Seems odd that one lamp should be left out, but with German engineering anything is possible.

Both the same age of motor both euro 3 engines note just the dde light on the 320d comes on our message center replaces that light, the euro 4s use the more common engine light
