have done a search but nothing usful came up , so I would like to know what else is needed when changing over from 2.5 defender engine to 200tdi defender engine. the landy is ex mod on a 94 plate L. This should be a straioght fit onto yhe lt77 gear box , I would like to change onto the carrtridge type feul filter ,is this just a straight componant swap also is it just a matter of using the temp sender from the n/a so I can use my temp guage or do I have to get a 200 gauge also the does the ignition have to be changed to allow for the differance in starting the 200 from the n/a or what does it involve .
sorry for asking these much asked questions but really need the help ta.

theres heaps of info on here about what your wanting to do, no offence mate but you can't have looked very ard

there is a thread on lr4x4.com that covers it in great detail

go to technical archive and its there somewhere.

mind that is for retrofitting a disco tdi not a defender, but shld still be some help.

Fit the original temp gauge sender to the new engine.
The sender must always match what is in the dashboard.

Worth noting that there will be several holes in the head near the back top, for various senders. If the one you want to use won't fit where the present one is, replace the present one to plug the hole and unscrew one of the spare plugs, rear top left of the head. If it won't fit in one of the holes, chances are it will fit in the other.

There may only be one plug in a blanked hole , but I have seen two.
