this may sound really odd but here goes, one of the number plate bulbs keeps going out so with the side lights on I moved the bulb around to try and get a good contact.the bulb flashed on then stopped.it looked like it had blown a fuse as the dashboard lights when out.change the fuse and dashboard lights back on,however the car will not start!there is no glow plug light coming on,no led on the auto gearbox and no sound from the fuel pump(new one fitted last year)engine turning over but not starting.I have had a quick look at the fuse boxes and changed a few,but still no joy.any ideas?

REmove the relay for the sidelights and then try it. It may have welded the contacts with current surge and still giving a short.

Could be purely coincidental, do you know if you fitted a good make fuel pump. I've heard the inferior ones don't last a year. Try jacking up the right rear wheel and tapping the fuel pump & filter assembly (there is a plastic snow guard over it) worth a try to eliminate possible causes
