Yeah I was reading the security thread...

Wouldn't know where to start tbh, they're all breakable...eventually! If someone wants to get in they will.
I am gonna paint it all black, or nato green to make it more identifiable, maybe a few more distinguishing features. Aside from sleeping in it with a big fecking bat I dont know what would be best?

The advice I have had, from VERY reliable sources, is everything you add takes time to get round. Yes they can do it, but make it take time and worse still noise, and they often move on to an easier one.

Start with a Disklok and pedal lock and build on that.
Fair play...People were talking about fuel cut off switches disguised as function buttons on the dash, I've got plenty that do nothing, how easy is this to install? and how much are we looking at roughly?
The disklock being a visual deterrent, that will be my last line of defence if they get that off or manage to make it driveable with the disklock still on...

I know nothing much about mechanical stuff but I could fit one. That said its probably the only security measure I would know how to get round

Works for me BUt I have a small Axe. :) instead of the Large Bat. :D
How about a big machete? I could lash one to each arm and flail...?

Also anyone know anything about that annoying automatic locking thing? and how to turn the bloody thing off!?

Green horn.............. that is what you are you got lots of experienced people telling you what to do. The above by Ragnar is the best to start with if you want to have a better chance of keeping it. Other wise just leave the keys in it:rolleyes:

Insurance will give you a small discount for security items what is 200 quid for a few thousand dollars? what is your excess??

And I'm listening... I'm simply asking about alternatives that are a tad more convenient if at all possible.

That is not a option I'm afaraid. The market is to big for stolen defenders for anything less.

And I will add on a Tracker from Ryder also and insurance companys will bless you with a discount making it a good buy

NO that is #2 as most parts fit a defender, Think of them as just a defender with a nicer seat
